Networked – Integration of RepXpert into VDO ContiSys DSI increases garage efficiency

RepXpert, the internet portal for garage professionals, is now networked with the diagnostic software VDO ContiSys DSI, which will make garage work simpler and more efficient than before. In the system area “Technical Data”, ContiSys users have complete access for the first time to the RepXpert garage portal with its five centres of expertise – Engine Parts, Drive Train, Garage Management, Chassis Technology and Tools. In addition, the system area “Spare Parts Catalogues” is directly linked to the RepXpert TecDoc Catalogue, which allows access to technical data provided by AuDaCon and Eurotax Schwacke.

“The integration of the garage portal RepXpert into VDO ContiSys diagnostic software,” said Harald Braunberger, Head of Product Management Diagnosis, Continental Aftermarket GmbH, “is the ideal enhancement to this product, which addresses rising demands for service and increases efficiency in the everyday business of running a garage.” The diagnostic software VDO ContiSys DSI is the heart of the multi-brand diagnosis system ContiSys VCI. Here you choose the vehicle needing diagnosis, identify vehicle systems, read and delete entries in the fault memory, test and activate components, display actual values or do research in the parts catalogue – computer-assisted and always up-to-date. Working with computer software that’s intuitive and simple to use, VDO ContiSys DSI communicates the vehicle interface to every PC in the garage via a secure, state-of-the-art WLAN port.

The RepXpert garage portal currently has 100,000 registered users worldwide. “Integrating RepXpert with VDO ContiSys DSI contributes to our continuing efforts to optimise and expand our user-structure,” said Maik Losleben, Vice President for Marketing at Schaeffler Automotive Aftermarket, in explaining the strategy behind this step. RepXpert is an international industry solution that provides independent garages technical information, repair manuals and instructions for installing parts for all vehicle classes. It’s flexible, updated daily and in eight different languages. Moreover, with just a few clicks, users can access information about garage organisation and management, as well as information about how to use special tools correctly (www.RepXpert.com).

After RepXpert has been successfully integrated into VDO ContiSys, a second stage is planned that will expand and improve catalogue and password connectivity. Goal here is to make navigating within VDO ContiSys diagnostic software even easier and more user-friendly.
